This is the page discussing our old Pizzeria! Said pizzeria had three separate openings (and subsequent closures). None of the three iterations lasted very long, but they are an integral part of ABI History.

Basic History:

For your viewing convenience, we have broken down the three separate eras in more detail on their own pages (as well as having an additional page where you can find all the pictures that will be used on said three pages). However, the main goal of the pizzeria, at least back in 1985, was to compete with Chuck E. Cheese's and Showbiz. After shutting down not even a year after launch, this first iteration was deemed a failure. The second attempt occurred in 1996, this time with the added focus of promoting various ABI games and other assets. This one lasted even less time. Iteration three, the most current one, lasted the longest, before unforseen circumstances made it shut down. Nowadays, we have no plans to make a new pizzeria whatsoever. Below are the links to various pages. You are welcome to look at any of the pages out of order, or you can look at the pages based on the order in which the three different iterations of the pizzeria existed.

After dealing with the fallout of the original pizzeria's closure, the place was finally reopened eleven years later, this time as Derrick's Pizza and Fish. There was a bigger focus on the aquatic theming this time around. The original seven suits were repaired, and joined by some new suits: Frank the Fearful Fox, Olive the Owl, Edward the Eel, Ellie the Babysitting Eagle, Corbin the Coral, Sebastian the Sea Sponge, and Owen the Orca. There were also neon varients of the original five animal-based animatronics.

As you might expect, the new suits also had some prototypes.

Thankfully, this time around, the process of making the various suits was nowhere near as complicated. Again, feel free to tell us the names you would give to some of these prototypes.

Getting to the finalized suits was relatively quick this time around.

From left to right, the animatronics are (in order): Ellie the Babysitting Eagle (The Mother), Frank the Fearful Fox (The Treehouse Leader), Owen the Orca (The Cool One), Olive the Owl (The Curious One), Corbin the Coral (The Support) (He doesn't look much like a coral, we know), Edward the Eel (The Musician), and Sebastian the Sea Sponge (The Protector). Thanks to a lot of extensive research, we have discovered the designer's thoughts on the various animatronics from the creators themselves:

Ellie the Babysitting Eagle:

"Hello, my name is Tammy, and I'm the person who made the Ellie the Babysitting Eagle animatronic. She was designed as the 'cornerpiece' of the Treehouse area for the revamped pizzeria, and meant to be very protective of all the other animals in the Treehouse. She was given the nickname of 'The Mother' since she keeps the other animals safe. I had heard horror stories about working with the computers to make prototypes, but my experience was relatively nice. I suppose the computers had gotten better, because there were no instances in which I was genuinely freaked out by any of the prototype suits. Everything seems to just have fit into place. I am proud of the work I did."

Frank the Fearful Fox

"Hello, my name is Tyler, and I worked on the Frank the Fearful Fox animatronic. My experience making the suit was a bit challenging. There were some prototype suits that looked a bit creepy, but the biggest issue was trying to make an animatronic that was to promote some . . . game or something ABI was making . . . called Fearful Fox I think. They had a demo arcade cabinet set up and everything. Frank was also designed to be like Derrick the Dragon, who had appeared to become less terrified to an extent. Overall, my experience wasn't horrible, I guess."

Owen the Orca:

"Hello, my name is Tony, and my experience making the Owen the Orca animatronic was a nightmare. I had heard about how cursed it was trying to get that Warren the Wolf suit right, and I feel like I was given the same computer. The first issue I ran into making the suit was that the computer kept making suits that were way too realistic, and that you had to lay down on your stomach to use, which definitely wasn't going to fly, even with a real gun and sword used by a couple of the animatronics. Then, when the computer realized that the company wanted a suit that was stand-up . . . I had my share of experience with nightmare fuel. Partially missing faces here, sharp teeth and 'dead,' white eyes there. Couple of the designs were more seal-like in appearance. Thankfully, that phase quickly passed, and the suit eventually came together, although it was the kind of suit that I chose after having to deal with so many issues beforehand. Overall, my experience was . . . meh."

Olive the Owl:

"Hello, my name is Taylor, and I made the Olive the Owl animatronic suit. I didn't have too hard of a time getting the suit finished, although it was a bit of a struggle trying to get the computer to spit out something that was visually distinct enough from Ellie. Overall, my experience with the Olive animatronic wasn't bad."

Corbin the Coral:

"Hello, my name is Percy, and I made the Corbin the Coral animatronic suit. I think my biggest hurdle was trying to get the computer to spit out a suit that was even remotely sea-like. The company didn't expect anything too fancy, but it did want something that was at least related to the theming. Orange cows were out of the question. Thankfully, the computer didn't take too long to give me a design that was fairly sensical. Overall, my experience making the suit was fine."

Edward the Eel:

"Hello, my name is Jerome, and I worked on the Edward the Eel animatronic suit. From what I've gathered, the computers have a hard time making suits based on aquatic life. However, there weren't too many hurdles to overcome, meaning the process was relatively smooth. Overall, I enjoyed my time making the suit."

Sebastian the Sea Sponge

"Hello, my name is Beatrice, and I worked on the Sebastian the Sea Sponge animatronic suit. My experience wasn't anything too crazy. I just chose a design I liked best, and off we went. Overall, my experience was fine."

The pizzeria opened in early May of 1996. This time, there was a lot more promotion.

Like last time, the goal was eventually to open up other locations, after the pizzeria had been around a while, but those plans fell through quite quickly after the pizzeria shut down after only a week of service. This become an embarrassing stain on the company's track record, one that would affect it financially and publicly. In 1999, there were talks of reopening, but those fell through, as it was reasoned that people wouldn't want to go to some old pizzeria from the 90s, not when the new decade was just around the corner. Like last time, you can learn more about the pizzeria on our admina YouTube channel.
